Championship of quarantine
Today is the forth day of my third quarantine of 2021.
Considering it's only the 1st of April, and we only kicked off 3 months of this 2021, well: thats pretty impressive. I went back to Italy in January: 14 days of quarantine. I came back to the UK in March: 10 days of quarantine. I came to Kenya and now: other 10 days of quarantine. Well, this last one is a bit of a loose quarantine: Kenyan government doesnt require me to self isolate, and indeed I need to go out and get food to survive ;-) But I am trying to avoid meeting people and my group of research.
So far, then, 34 days of quarantine in total, out of 90 days of 2021. Means more than 30% of my time was spent locked up.
People who knows me well are aware that I have an obsession with time - mainly with controlling time. So: I remember the day something happen in the past, or how much time passed since something else happened. That's not a merit: it makes me very stressed.
But this time, well: I am quite happily quarantining. I am sleeping sooo much. Like 14 hours in a row. During this last stressful months, I have been telling my friends and family that once in Kenya I would have slept for days to recover from all the stress of travelling during the pandemic.
Indeed, I am sleeping in any corner I can find. A skill developed in years of transits in the airports. Currently, I am writing from my garden. Its sunny and warm, but not boiling hot. There is a nice breeze which moves the leaves. Birds are chirping. I am lieing under an avocado three and I am falling asleep in....
